The severity and persistence of anxiety symptoms varies, but anxiety is often associated with sleep difficulties, academic and social struggles, somatic symptoms, temper tantrums, and feeding and eating problems. Anxiety disorders frequently co-occur with other psychiatric conditions and can be associated with suicidal ideation and behavior and non-suicidal self-injury. This talk will review common types of pediatric anxiety disorders, screening and assessment tools, strategies for supporting patients and their families that can be implemented in the primary care setting, and reasons for referral to subspecialty care. Diagnosing and Treating Bipolar Disorder March 31, 2023
